Loose or missing tiles in the home can pose a serious challenge, especially for those with mobility aids. Uneven flooring creates tripping hazards and can cause a walker to catch or wobble, increasing the risk of falls and injury. Navigating one’s own home shouldn’t be stressful or physically taxing.

Ever wondered what $10 could do? It can save the lives of veterans like the one you're reading about in this story. Donate $10 a month and help us reach veterans before a crisis occurs. Together, we can do better. Our veterans deserve better.

Gabriel served in the Navy from 1964-1966, where he was combat deployed to Vietnam. Garbriel lives with disabled his wife, Diya, who depends on her walker to move about their home. They stated the floor tiles in their kitchen and utility room were either loose or missing and needed to be repaired so that he and his wife would be able to navigate their home safely without tripping or falling.

After contacting several local organizations, Permian Warrior Partnership’s case coordinator, Azzie, contacted Adult Protective Services for help with getting the floors fixed. The APS replaced the veteran’s floors in the kitchen and utility room. Gabriel and Diya were also grateful to receive a new storm door for their home, thanks to the coordination of these local services.
