Supporting veterans goes beyond meeting immediate needs. Sometimes, it means creating opportunities for veterans and their families to spend quality time together, build lasting memories, and feel connected to their community.

For John, a pre-9/11 U.S. Army veteran, Permian Warrior Partnership (PWP) helped make those opportunities possible through its community engagement initiatives.

John reached out to PWP after learning about an opportunity to receive complimentary tickets to a Midland RockHounds baseball game. Recognizing the value of spending time together as a family, PWP provided John and his family with four complimentary tickets to enjoy a game.

Ever wondered what $10 could do? It can save the lives of veterans like the one you're reading about in this story. Donate $10 a month and help us reach veterans before a crisis occurs. Together, we can do better. Our veterans deserve better.

The opportunity gave the family a chance to step away from everyday routines, enjoy a local sporting event, and share an experience together. But the fun did not stop at the ballpark. John and his family also received complimentary tickets to the Best of the West Pat Green concert, giving them another opportunity to make memories and enjoy live entertainment in their community.

During follow-up communication, John shared that he and his family greatly enjoyed both events and expressed appreciation for the opportunity to attend.

Through these experiences, PWP helped create moments of connection, recreation, and family engagement. While complimentary tickets may seem like a small gesture, opportunities like these can make a meaningful difference by giving veterans and their loved ones access to experiences they can enjoy together.

John’s story highlights an important part of PWP’s mission: supporting veterans means recognizing the value of community, family, and belonging - not just providing resources during difficult times.

By connecting John and his family with local events, PWP helped turn community partnerships into meaningful experiences and lasting memories.

Because supporting those who served also means creating opportunities for them and their families to connect, participate, and thrive in their communities.
