What started as a free concert ticket ended as a new job! A veteran searching for meaningful work found a powerful full-circle moment in being hired as a career advisor with firsthand experience, and now helps guide others through the same transitions they once faced.
Jen is an Army veteran who served active duty from 2004 to 2014 and now resides with her husband in Texas. She was introduced to Permian Warrior Partnership in the Fall of 2025 when she submitted a drawing to win tickets to our activation at Pat Green’s Best of the West benefit concert. There, she mentioned that she was in need of assistance with her job search. Jen has a background in human resources, as well as fitness experience as a personal trainer and nutrition coach, and was seeking roles that aligned with her veteran experience that would allow her to connect with and help the veterans in her community.

Ever wondered what $10 could do? It can save the lives of veterans like the one you're reading about in this story. Donate $10 a month and help us reach veterans before a crisis occurs. Together, we can do better. Our veterans deserve better.
Jen was connected to a local veteran career advisor who let her know about an open position at Texas Veterans Commission as a Career Advisor and was hired for the position! She is excited to not only fulfill her career aspirations, but also to connect with others in the veteran community in their job searches as well.
Congratulations, Jen! We’re excited to see you thrive in your new role serving veterans!
